Our Purpose
Shoes for Hope’s primary purpose is to put either a new or used pair of shoes on the feet of young school children who do not have any. Parents experience difficulty affording school shoes due to their high cost and short use duration due to growing feet.
Why Shoes Matter?
Dignity & Confidence
A pair of proper shoes restores dignity and self-esteem. When children feel confident about how they look, they are more willing to attend school and participate without fear or embarrassment.
Education Access
Many schools require proper footwear for attendance. By providing shoes, we remove a major barrier to education and help children attend school regularly and on time.

Environmental Impact
Most shoes are made using a combination of synthetic materials that are difficult to break down or recycle. As a result, millions of shoes end up in landfills each year, contributing to long-term environmental pollution. By donating usable shoes, we extend their lifespan, reduce landfill waste, and lower the environmental footprint associated with producing new footwear.
How We Identify Children in Need
Work with primary schools
Our local volunteers collaborate directly with primary schools in underserved communities to understand real needs
Identify vulnerable children
Teachers and school administrators help identify children who lack proper school footwear.
Update database regularly
We maintain and update our records to ensure support reaches the children who need it most.
Allocate shoes fairly
Donated shoes are carefully distributed to pre-identified children and communities in a transparent and fair manner.

Where the Shoes Go
Once the donated shoes arrive in Ghana, West Africa, they are picked by the Shoes for Hope local charity Volunteers who would begin the process of ensuring that distribution of the shoes are allocated to the already identified communities of young schoolchildren in need of school shoes on our database. We turn shoes into opportunities for all.
